SUNUVA, it's been ages since I've done one of these.
I don't know why, but I feel chatty for some reason.  So anyway I took a look at this OAV.  I'll say it now to get it out of the way: I don't particularly care for Vocaloid songs, I was mostly attracted by the hype and character designs.
Likes:
--Otherworld Girls:  I liked the character design for the other world personas, especially the weapons, even if I don't generally care for moe.
--Otherworldy: While we're at it, the other world design wasn't bad either, and I kinda liked the monochromatic approach.  Could use less of an obsession with tiles and steel crosses, though.
---Ana-mi-nation: Animation was good, especially in the fight scenes...what little they were.
Dislikes:
--School ALL over again: I've generally gotten sick of the school setting in anime because so many themes get repeated ad-nauseum in these sort of shows (the whole wake-up scene at the start, for one).  The fact that most of the OAV was made of this ilk is a huge blow to my enjoyment.
--EMOTE, DAMMIT:  All the other world scenes had way too much BLANK STARING.  They don't need to be extreme emotions like in GunXSword, but they could at least put in a bit more like Dead Master's emotions around the 38-min mark.

Maybe it's because I'm not the target audience, or that I was expecting more fight scenes like other people, but this was a chore to watch.  I've heard this may become a series (and the sudden ending makes it plausible), but if it's the truth then they should at least strike a balance between the school life and actiony-otherworld (WITH MORE FEEEEEEELING).  If they could make a deeper connection between the state/existence of the other world with the character's emotions/state of mind, that'd be a neat level to add to the story.  But I doubt they'd go so far, what with the obsession for fanservice and moe-factor over good storytelling/concepts lately.

So, :iconslider-chan: tagged me to do this, and I will oblige...even though I don't have up to 10 buds here on Deviantart.
*weeps*

List the top 10 things you want for the holidays. 1 being the thing you want the most. Then tag on to 10 friends.

1) Wacom tablet.  Pencils are too messy, and the mouse can only do so much.  Think it could help w/ my Illustration major too

2) Nintendo Wii w/ Rayman Raving Rabids.  But now I hear they're recalling....  DAAAAAAAAH!

3) Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (don't care which system)

4) DVD/CD burner drive...thingy for my computer.  Sad, I know, but it didn't come w/ one!

5) Artbooks for various games/anime

6) MONAY!  DINERO!  DOLLAR SIGNS!

7) Final Fantasy XII

8) Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin

9) Info on martial art styles; God Hand's gotten me in the mood.

10) To set up and kick Kim Jong Il like a midget footb--...I'll stop there.

I CHOOSE YOU, :iconinsomnia202:!

The big 2-1

1 min read
Soooo yeah, I'm 21 today.  And the only plan I have is to rent a movie tonight.
*SIIIIIIIIIIIGH.....*
Sure, I'll do something w/ the folks this weekend, but still...

...Ever wanted to hurt yourself because you sound just like those people who whine on their blogs for the littlest things?  And then those people get made fun of on message and image boards?

Haven't uploaded much here lately--doesn't mean I haven't made anything, just means I'm too busy to upload stuff.  'Specially NOW since the end of the semester is upon us.  But part of it is because I think I work TOO hard; next semester, I need to think about balancing living w/ work.

Just got back from a movie.  Which taked on a love interest.  Now, Batman Begins had the same problem.  In its defense, it still was a great movie, and they at least *somewhat* drew out the romance between Bruce and...what's-her-name.  But this movie just tacked it on.  (The movie I saw recently came out, so I'm hoping not to spoil it for people.)

To Hollywood:  WE DONT' ALWAYS NEED ROMANCE IN OUR MOVIES.  Focus more on the action, the story, the intrigue--focus your time and energy better!

...Wait.  I just realized.  When you think "Batman", you think "Robin".
....
Maybe tacked-on love interests are simply a necessary evil.
